The annual drift in Dave Robert´s boat. Fishing, resting, lunching and catching on the Rogue

No wonder one wants to go back again.

Then I had the good fortune to drift the Rogue with Dave Roberts. Caught quite a few including hooking a good size steelhead that snapped the leader on the little Carlin 7' 9'' 5wt.

Up on the ridge above the Metolius river at sunset with a short time between the two first and the last one a few minutes later.


I´m amazed that I didn´t get more flare in the first image, but I guess that´s the upside of using primes.

The place was stuffed with stuff.

Monday was fishing day with Steve, Chris and his mom. Steve had to leave early, so I didn´t get any pic´s of the "mountain man" on the river..

Although I only met her once before, the Metolius was just as beautiful as I remembered her. It was a special moment to see her again.




And she was just as generous as last time.




Chris´ mom Sally had a great time as well!





Then the bulltrout/whitefish battle...

Now, is it just me, or is that rod bending a bit?





Finally he got hold of the "package" with the bulltrout that wouldn let go of the whitefish so easily. Seconds after this shot the bulltrout became aware of the Alaskan guy´s presence and took off.






Left was the whitefish, probably still thankful to Chris...





Then my Metolius trip was over and I will probably miss her until next time. Mt. Washington said; See ya then!

Then there was this Borger guy.


"Hmm, that feels pretty good"..

So, I had to try some lawn casting outside Greg´s cabin and Greg asked me; "can´t you cast any longer than that, punk"?




.."Sure I can, you old fart"...




While a relaxed (as always) Joe Beelart was laying back at the porch, watching the mess..
